Prof. Helmut Heseker is Emeritus Professor of nutritional sciences at Paderborn University. He holds a diploma degree in human nutrition and a PhD from Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen. In 2007 he spent six months as a visiting scientist at Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Research Center at Tufts University, Boston working on the risks and benefits of folic acid fortification. Dr Heseker is also editor of the largest German nutritional journal Ernaehrungs Umschau and of the 14th German Nutrition Report 2020. He is treasurer of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences since 2013. Professor Heseker’s main research interests include: nutritional epidemiology, nutrition and health in the life-circle, nutrition and health education.
